As new details emerge regarding the arrest of country music star Jamey Johnson in Tennessee over the weekend, it looks like the singer could even spend a nice chunk of time behind bars if authority choose to push things that far.

Johnson was arrested on Nov. 17 just outside of Nashville for speeding and drug possession, according to multiple reports.
The 49-year-old country music star, who recently released his first new album — “Midnight Gasoline’ — in years was reportedly taken into custody in Williamson County and charged with possession of drugs and speeding. His bond was set at $500,000.
“We can confirm that Jamey Johnson was arrested n Sunday, Nov. 17 in Williamson Country,” the Tennessee Highway Patrol told WTVF. “The incident is still under investigation.”
Whiskey Riff reported that Johnson was charged under a Tennessee code that states that “possession of between half an ounce to 10 pounds of marijuana is a Class E felony punishable by up to one to six years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
The site said Johnson is scheduled to appear back in court on Feb. 6, 2025 at 1 p.m.
It’s hard to believe that Johnson, who was released and performed Wednesday night at the CMAs, would actually see a full six years … or, for any time at all, for a little bit of weed, but this will be one to watch.
