The Washington Commanders essentially ended the Chicago Bears’ 2024 season in Week 8 last season. When rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels found wide receiver Noah Brown in the end zone on a 52-yard “Hail Mary,” it gave the Commanders the win, sending the franchises in two different directions.
At the time of the game, Washington was 5-2, and Chicago was 4-2, with both firmly in the playoff mix. The Commanders would finish the season 12-5 and make it to the NFC championship game.
Meanwhile, the Bears didn’t win another game until Week 18, finishing the season a disappointing 5-12.
Daniels’ “Hail Mary” was one of the 2024 season’s most signature plays, and it earned the “NFL Moment of the Year” award at the NFL Honors ceremony earlier this month.

Some Bears fans already have an unhealthy obsession with Daniels, likely because he (Daniels) was more successful than their rookie quarterback, Caleb Williams, who was taken No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL draft.
While the Bears’ 2024 season was one to forget, things are already looking up for them in 2025 after they hired former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as head coach.
