Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich has slammed Donald Trump’s dictator-style push to immortalize himself with his image on a $1 coin, his name on the Washington Commanders’ stadium and beyond.
The former Bill Clinton Cabinet member wrote in his latest Substack newsletter that Trump certainly “deserves to be remembered” but “not as a hero.”
Reich, a longtime critic of Trump and his economic policies, proposed “a simple building” of iron and cement “containing the records of his attacks on democracy and the names of everyone who aided him,” topped with the words “Trump’s Treason.”
He suggested it could sit on the White House lawn, in place of the eventually-to-be-demolished $300 million ballroom, which Trump controversially razed the East Wing to build.
