Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ changed his signature hairstyle after Kansas City’s loss in Super Bowl LIX.
Though the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine has dominated headlines this week as teams around the league look toward the offseason, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes briefly stole the spotlight on Monday when he debuted his new haircut at a Texas Tech basketball game.
Mahomes returned to his alma mater to watch the No. 10-ranked Red Raiders take on the No. 6 Houston Cougars at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
Despite his best efforts, Mahomes was unable to cheer Texas Tech to victory. The Red Raiders would ultimately lose the contest 69-61 and saw their record fall to 21-8.
Mahomes’ decision to change his signature hairdo was lamented by some on social media sites when the first pictures of the quarterback’s new look surfaced last week.
Though he may have less of a mop than before, Mahomes still has plenty of time to grow out his hair in time for the Chiefs’ training camp, which will start in late July.
