Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was beside him himself on Sunday when a Washington Commanders player fell short of the end zone cost him just under $360,000.
Late in the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Commanders had the ball at the goal line while leading 21-17. A touchdown would have given the team a commanding two-score lead with just five minutes left in the game. On 2nd & goal, quarterback Jayden Daniels handed the ball off to Brian Robinson Jr. — whom Portnoy needed to score a touchdown in order to cash his big bet, on which he risked $10,000 to win $359,831.
Instead, Robinson was stuffed behind the line of scrimmage for a loss.
Portnoy, sitting in front of his television, slapped the floor before collapsing and lying face-down.
“Do it again, please!” Portnoy said. “They’re not gonna do it again. They’re not gonna do it again!”
On 3rd & goal, the Commanders ran a pass play that resulted in a touchdown. That score, however, was called back due to an offensive holding penalty. Portnoy again found himself face-down on the floor.
Later in the game, Portnoy posted another video calling for Robinson’s release because he wasn’t even on the field.
“Motherfucker’s not even in the game!” he said. “Cut his ass! What’s the point of him even being on the fucking team? Guy from Kentucky’s getting all the carries. Get that fucking Brian Robinson Jr. — cut his ass! What’s he even on the fucking team for?”
