A man has been charged in connection with the alleged theft of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown’s vehicle early Monday morning, Camden County Police Department said.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by NJ Advance Media, 25‑year‑old Luis Segurra was arrested and charged with being in possession of a 2022 Mercedes GLE Maybach — worth at least $200,000 — that allegedly was stolen from Brown’s home in Haddonfield.
Unbeknownst to Segurra, the vehicle was equipped with a GPS system and was tracked by Brown, who relayed its location to authorities. The car ultimately ended up in Camden, where Segurra resides.
When officers from the Camden County Police Department arrived near the intersection of Louis and Morton streets in Camden, they found Segurra in the vehicle, the complaint said. Segurra got out of the passenger side and attempted to flee, but officers caught him and arrested him.
According to the complaint, officers found the vehicle’s key fob with Segurra and crack cocaine in Segurra’s seat. Another person in the car also accused Segurra of soliciting a prostitute, the complaint said.
Segurra is being held in the Camden County Jail and faces four charges: receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, solicitation and resisting or eluding arrest.
Brown used Instagram to urge whoever stole his vehicle to return it with no questions asked and without facing charges, hinting that he and others searching for the car knew its location. Later, Brown said in a now‑deleted post that the vehicle had been recovered and the suspect was in custody.
“See, I told you to just turn the car back in,” Brown said in the deleted post. “Just turn it in and now you’ve got to deal with the consequences.”
Brown also made light of the moment, recalling an incident that his son talked about when seeing the police on hand who were assisting him.
“This morning, when we were talking to the police, my son said ‘Dada, Dada, Paw Patrol, Paw Patrol,” Brown recalled. “I said everybody has jokes this morning, huh.”
Brown has been an important player in the Eagles’ run of recent success, which culminated in a Super Bowl LIX win against the Kansas City Chiefs last season. Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler, caught 67 passes for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.
