The Philadelphia Eagles dropped their third straight game Monday night, falling 22–19 in overtime to the Los Angeles Chargers. QB Jalen Hurts struggled throughout the matchup, completing 21 of 40 passes for 240 yards with four interceptions and a lost fumble. Despite multiple late opportunities, Philadelphia’s offense failed to sustain drives, and their turnover issues kept Los Angeles in control for most of the night.
The deciding play came in overtime. After the Chargers opened the extra period with a field goal, the Eagles moved into scoring position before Hurts threw a costly interception in Chargers territory, ending the game.

The Super Bowl MVP had been out of rhythm all night, and his turnover-heavy performance ultimately allowed Los Angeles to escape with the win.
Compounding Philadelphia’s offensive woes is a severely depleted offensive line. The team entered the game missing veteran right tackle Lane Johnson (foot), while guard Landon Dickerson left the game in the third quarter with a calf injury.
Added to that, center Cam Jurgens missed time earlier this year because of a knee issue.

That battered front and the offense’s inability to run or protect the quarterback consistently prompted broadcasters Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to float the idea that the Eagles might call Jason Kelce out of retirement.
“I would be surprised if they haven’t already,” Aikman said. “I think I’d be knocking on his door every week to try to get him to come back. He can still do it.”
Kelce spent 13 seasons with the Eagles before retiring after the 2023 campaign. He helped Philadelphia win its first-ever Super Bowl title, while earning seven Pro Bowl selections and six First-Team All-Pro honors, cementing himself as one of the most accomplished players in franchise history. Aikman believes Kelce’s leadership, experience and command of the offense could help stabilize a struggling unit and restore some of the consistency Philadelphia once relied on.

Even with the loss, Philadelphia still holds the top spot in the NFC East, though its margin has tightened as the Dallas Cowboys (6-6-1) remain within reach with four games to play.
The Eagles now prepare to host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, and the game will air on Fox. With their division lead shrinking and the losing streak growing, it becomes a critical matchup for Philadelphia as they try to regain control of their season.
