Fox’s Greg Gutfeld accused the media of holding the Trump administration to a double standard regarding the SignalGate controversy on his eponymous late-night show Friday.
Gutfeld claimed that former President Joe Biden’s diminished cognitive state was a bigger national security risk than White House officials discussing a military strike in Yemen on the Signal app with reporter Jeffrey Goldberg in tow.
After a week of media coverage of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Vice President JD Vance, and others discussing a strike on the Houthi rebels, Gutfeld opened his show by discussing claims about Biden in a new book.
Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes claim in the forthcoming book Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House that Democrats were prepared to replace Biden as their 2024 nominee as far back as January 2023.
Aides to Kamala Harris reportedly were also prepared for the possibility Biden could die in office. Gutfeld reacted to the revelations from the book and blasted the media over SignalGate.
“Biden was often tailed by staffers since he did have a tendency to, you know, wander off,” Gutfeld said while referring to claims in the book. “I bet they likely had another team nearby, ready to make a chalk outline.” He added:
According to one veteran operative, nobody was crazy about running Kamala for president either, but “at least she had a pulse.” I know, talk about a low bar, where judging by her own behavior, she pulled up a stool and started doing shots. So, at the same time that the White House and their mouthpieces like Joe Scarborough were telling the world Biden was more vigorous than ever, they were planning for his imminent demise.
But you can’t blame Scarborough for getting it wrong. He’s had years of Mika saying he’s the best she ever had. Dark, dark. Of course, the media seems shocked by this news. But shocking to whom? None of this is surprising to anyone who, unlike Joe, had a brain.
“I mean, you expect us to care about some group chat regarding a successful strike against terrorists after gaslighting us about a senile old man for four years? F*** you!” Gutfeld concluded. “It was far more dangerous to give President Biden classified info every single damn day.”
