A restaurant in downtown Boston that had a celebrity chef behind it has quietly shut down after more than three years.
Guy Fieri’s Boston Kitchen + Bar has permanently closed, according to Google Maps and several social media posts.
A call placed to the restaurant Tuesday indicated the business is now closed, as well.
A post in the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page suggests that the restaurant “was locked up tight” as of last week. The website for Guy Fieri’s Boston Kitchen + Bar is no longer available.
Guy Fieri’s Boston Kitchen + Bar took over the former space of a restaurant called Explorateur in December 2021. The restaurant’s menu mostly focused on American cuisine with menu items including burgers, wings and pastas.
This is the second restaurant from Fieri in Boston to close within the past two years. Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina next to TD Garden shut down in the fall of 2023. It was later replaced with Play Boston in December 2023.
Fieri was catapulted into celebrity chef status after winning a Food Network reality TV contest. He has hosted Food Network shows such as “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” according to his Food Network profile.
The address for the now-closed Guy Fieri’s Boston Kitchen + Bar is 186 Tremont St., Boston.
