Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua is already considered one of the better receivers in the NFL. He’s put together two fantastic first seasons in the NFL with nearly 200 receptions for almost 2,500 yards in just 28 games.
Undoubtedly, Nacua has picked up some skills by watching some other great receivers that came before him. And on the St. Brown Podcast, Nacua revealed what aspects from which receivers he would use to build his perfect pass-catcher, which included some legends as well as a former teammate:
- Hands: Calvin Johnson
- Speed: Odell Beckham Jr.
- Intelligence: Cooper Kupp
- Size: Julio Jones
- Routes: Ja’Marr Chase
That’s quite the receiver build, and it checks out. Johnson is a Hall-of-Famer. Jones will likely be there soon, too. Kupp and Chase are former triple-crown receivers (a feat Nacua wants to accomplish himself) while Beckham Jr. was once at the pinnacle of the position before injuries got the best of him.
After two seasons in the NFL, it’s safe to say Nacua knows what he’s talking about. And now, he’ll get to play one a receiver who easily could have made his list in Davante Adams. The duo of Nacua and Adams should be one of the best in the league, especially with Matthew Stafford back under center to throw.
