NEW ORLEANS — Saquon Barkley couldn’t help himself.
When Jameis Winston, who was asking questions for FOX during Super Bowl media day on Monday, asked Barkley which team would sign him in free agency, Barkley threw a jab at the Giants, whose refusal to re-sign him led him to the rival Eagles.
“I’m a free agent, I don’t really got no job,” Winston asked. “Who’s gonna sign me in free agency?”
Answered Barkley: “I think New York needs a quarterback right now.”

So, would Winston really consider signing with the Giants? NJ Advance Media asked him that question shortly after his viral exchange with Barkley.
“Would I really sign with the Giants? Absolutely!” Winston told NJ Advance Media. “I want to keep playing and do what I do best.”
Asked for his thoughts on the Giants’ putrid roster and coach Brian Daboll, who is very much on the hot seat after a 3-14 season, Winston looked to the positives — and might’ve had a Freudian slip.
“I have a ton of respect for coach Brian Daboll, the things he does offensively,” Winston said. “I think we have a young— woah! They have a young roster. But they have a young roster that’s ready to win. They’re ready to bounce back. I know they’re hungry over there.”
The Giants, who don’t have a quarterback on the roster, obviously need a new signal caller. And while they’ll probably look to take one with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, maybe Winston could be a decent bridge.
Winston, 31, finished the year with 2,121 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
