Joe Rogan argued the left can’t mimic the success of his and other podcasts because they belong to a “suicide cult.”
On the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan and fellow comedian Andrew Schulz mocked critics on the left and their analysis of Rogan’s growing influence. Rogan made waves in the 2024 presidential election by inviting on President Donald Trump and throwing a last-minute endorsement his way. An interview with Vice President Kamala Harris did not come together.
On top of Rogan, closely-associated podcasters like Theo Von have also turned to politics more and more in their own shows. Von has interviewed Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Mark Cuban, and, more recently, Candace Owens.
“I saw on CNN after the election, they were talking about us in specific, and they were talking about how there is this network of podcasts that are interconnected that has been financed, like, this huge corporate finance network,” Rogan told Schulz. “No, it’s just a bunch of friends you fucking idiots. We do each other’s podcasts.”
Rogan dismissed arguments on the left calling for the creation of their own Rogan-style podcasts to help reach younger voters. The left, Rogan said, can’t “sync up” in that way because of the virtue signaling and standards in their “suicide cult.”
The hosts of Pod Save America blasted Democrats in November for calling for their own Rogan, arguing Rogan was on their side “and then everyone said, ‘Fuck you.’”
“They’re trying to figure this out. They’re saying they need that on the left. Good luck,” Rogan said. “You guys cancel each other if your Ukraine flag is too small. You guys talk shit about each other for not having trans kids. You guys are out of your minds. You’re not going to sync up together. You’re in a suicide cult.”
