Is Jim Morrison still alive? As wild as it sounds, a superfan thinks so.
Fifty-four years ago, Morrison died at the age of 27 on July 3, 1971. The singer was found dead in the bathtub of an apartment in Paris. The cause of death was said to be heart failure initially. However, there was never an autopsy done to determine the cause entirely. With that slight opening of ambiguity, conspiracy theories tend to form. “Before The End: Searching For Jim Morrison,” a multi-part documentary series, has been streaming on Apple+ since January.
It was created by Jeff Finn, a “superfan” of Morrison and The Doors. Finn stated he has been researching the deceased singer for 39 years. The documentary concludes that Morrison is indeed alive, as an 81-year-old currently living in Syracuse, NY. Better yet, Finn wants to prove Morrison has been low-key working as a maintenance man named Frank.
During the documentary, Finn claims that two of Morrison’s ex-girlfriends were shown a picture of the man in Syracuse and burst into tears because of the resemblance. Finn also interviews the man behind the name and leaves open the possibility that this is all a hoax.
