Fox News contributor Leo Terrell blamed a host of culprits for the outbreak of wildfires in southern California – including Californians themselves.
At least five people have died so far as thousands of acres have been burned by several fires. Firefighter crews are struggling to contain the conflagrations because of high winds and drought conditions, which have yielded low water supplies.
Appearing on Wednesday’s Hannity, went on a tirade that was high in anger and certainty but low on supporting evidence for his claims:
I wanna be as clear as possible. This state has been hijacked by the extreme left… They focus on denying their responsibility by yelling out, “Climate change.” I heard that before the show, Karen Bass, right before the show, “It’s climate change. It’s climate change. That’s a lie! It’s poor management on the part of the Democrats! They don’t look at fire prevention. What you said. Basic forestry as a priority. “It’s climate change.” “It’s EV mandates, it’s preventing oil drilling. It’s DEI! That DEI, which is so sickening! What does it have to do a putting out fires?! But you got a city fire chief who thinks DEI is the number one issue!
It’s insulting! And you know what? I blame the voters and I blame the media here! Sean, you think national media’s biased? The local media in California kiss the ring of the Democrat party! They do nothing! They don’t ask the right questions.
Some on the right have a history of immediately blaming DEI, as they did in the case of the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, the failure of Silicon Valley Bank, and the near-successful assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump.
