CINCINNATI (WKRC) – McDonald’s iconic Shamrock Shake is returning for a limited time, and it’s bringing back an old mascot and introducing a new flavor.
The fast food giant announced in a press release that the Shamrock Shake would return on Feb. 10, and that 25 cents from each sale would support local families participating in Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The company is celebrating the shake’s return by bringing back Uncle O’Grimacey, an old, festive mascot that was originally introduced in the 1970s to celebrate the shake’s introduction. According to the press release, O’Grimacey’s 2025 return is the first time he’s been with his nephew, the large, purple Grimace, “in decades.”
McDonald’s said that customers can buy O’Grimacey-themed merchandise on its website.
The Shamrock Shake will be available from Feb. 10 through March 23, and McDonald’s announced a new variant for 2025: Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.
