U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett is getting a lot of praise on social media for her quick and bold response when asked about Elon Musk. Crockett, a Democrat from Texas, is known for speaking her mind, and she didn’t hold back when reporters asked her what she would say to the SpaceX CEO.
While speaking to reporters on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, Crockett was asked what she would say if she had the chance to speak directly to Musk. Without missing a beat, Crockett simply said, “fuck off.” The crowd around her laughed, and someone in the background could be heard saying, “Well said.”
Musk, who advises former President Donald Trump, is also leading efforts to cut the federal workforce through the Department of Government Efficiency, though the White House says Musk doesn’t have the authority to make government decisions on his own.
The video of Crockett’s response has quickly gone viral, with the account Call To Activism sharing it on Instagram and X. Many people are calling her a “national hero” for standing her ground.
One Instagram user wrote, “She never disappoints! Love her,” while another commented, “I feel certain she speaks for a large percentage of this planet and most of Mars…”
Other users also praised Crockett’s response, with one calling it “the absolute only possible response.” Some even suggested she should run for president.
Earlier in 2024, Crockett gained attention after a heated exchange with U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene during a House Oversight Committee hearing. That moment even inspired someone to turn Crockett’s words into a diss track.
In January, she had another fiery exchange with U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace over the phrase “Chile, listen,” which led Crockett to release her own line of merchandise.
