DETROIT – They are the Rolls-Royce of Comerica Park seats, new for 2025 at Detroit Tigers games. We met one fan who dropped more than $150 thousand on Home Plate Club season tickets and he says he’ll do it again.
Mike Sawula says he is a lifelong Tigers fan. When the franchise unveiled its plush new seats located right behind home plate, he pounced on them, purchasing four for the entire season at around $38k a pop.
Sawula says he understands how much he spent on them, but says he can’t put a price on the memories he will make with his family and friends at the games.
“I’m here for the experience, not just the game,” Sawula told MLive. “How many opportunities do you have in your lifetime to sit this close to the field and see your favorite Tigers play?”
Sawula, who brought one of his lifelong friends with him to Opening Day, and says he will bring his son, who attends George Washington University, to some games, says these tickets will allow him to make unforgettable memories with his loved ones.
“I will carry these experiences the rest of my life. My son will carry them the rest of his life and that’s what it’s all about. We’ll talk about some of these moments for the rest of our lives.”
Home Plate Club seats can be purchased in quarter, half or season ticket packages.
They come with their own nearby parking spot with a private entrance which will eventually lead right to the Home Plate Club when construction is complete in a few months.
The Club will be located right under and behind the Home Plate Club seats, which also include unlimited fine dining and an open bar before and throughout the game. Currently, that area is located at the Motor City Tigers Club.
There are 340 of the cushioned seats behind home plate. They are 21% wider than normal seats and come with more leg room.
They also feature quick-touch heating and cooling climate control technology.
There are still some Home Plate Club season tickets available for the 2025 season.
Individual game options are located within the new Loge Boxes a little further up in the lower sections behind home plate. These seats feature a privacy wall which partially encloses them.
$2,000 gets fans four Loge Box seats, a parking pass and access to the all-inclusive club.
The Tigers were one of the last teams in the Major Leagues to add high-end seating options for fans.
