Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently unveiled the prototype of the Vande Bharat sleeper coach at the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) facility in Bengaluru.
The new Vande Bharat sleeper train is designed with 16 coaches and is intended for long-distance journeys ranging from 800 km to 1,200 km. Key features include improved oxygen levels and advanced virus protection systems, according to Hindustan Times.

A recent photo highlighted the loco pilot area of the sleeper coach, showcasing the new design elements.
According to Hindustan Times, the sleeper coach is set to undergo extensive trials and testing within the next 10 days, followed by further on-track evaluations.

During his visit to the BEML facility, Vaishnaw not only inspected the Vande Bharat sleeper coach but also engaged with the railway staff.
As part of the ongoing expansion, Vaishnaw laid the foundation stone for a new Vande Bharat manufacturing unit at the BEML premises.
