Firecracker Ban  Continues In Delhi 

A complete ban on the production,  sale, and use of all firecrackers has been imposed in Delhi.

No Crackers In Capital 

The Delhi government has decided to extend the ban till January 1, 2025.

No Exception For Green Crackers 

The ban includes green crackers and also prohibits online sales and delivery of firecrackers in the capital.

Why The Ban Is Needed

According to Delhi Environment  Minister Gopal Rai, the step has been taken to address the “danger of increasing air pollution in Delhi during the winter season”.

Joint Action Plan

As per a report in The Indian Express, for strict implementation of the ban, a joint action plan will be implemented by the Delhi Police, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and Revenue Department.

Pollution Spike

According to Gopal Rai, the ban will  help avoid the spike in pollution levels ahead of Diwali.
