Chef Saransh Goila shared a simple recipe to make mouth-watering sev barfi at home and we are too excited to try it out.

• 200g mawa • 150g castor sugar • 1/2 ltr milk • Saffron strands • Water • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder • 1 1/2 cup unsalted sev • 1/4 cup khoya • Ghee • Silver leaf • Dried rose petals • Almonds • Pistachios

• Add mawa to a kadhai and roast till it turns golden. Next, pour castor sugar and milk and mix nicely. Ensure stirring the ingredients.

• In the next step, dry roast some saffron strands and grind into a fine powder. Soak it in water.

• Transfer saffron-soaked water to the cooked mawa and mix gently.

• Next, add cardamom powder and unsalted sev and cook for a mix minutes. Cover the kadhai and let the sweet sit for 20 minutes.

• Add khoya to the sweetened mixture and turn off the gas.

• Use ghee to grease a plate and spread the freshly cooked barfi. Garnish it with silver leaf, dried rose petals, chopped almonds, and chopped pistachios.

Keep the plate of sev barfi aside for a few hours to set perfectly. Cut into barfi shapes and enjoy.
