A new ad from the Harris campaign appears specifically engineered to lure Donald Trump into meeting her on the debate stage next month for the second time by playing to his biggest insecurities.
“Champions know it’s any time, any place,” a narrator says, in a nod to Trump’s past assertion that he was hungry for a debate when Biden was still on the ticket.
“But losers may whine and waffle and take their ball home,” the narrator continues, over a clip of Trump looking dejected after failing to make a putt on the green.
Images of headlines and clips of TV hosts calling Trump the clear loser of the first debate fade into a clip of Harris before a massive crowd, saying she hopes he changes his mind about the second debate.
CNN has offered to host the event Oct. 23.
Harris’ campaign has also arranged for a plane to fly over the Bryant-Denny Stadium, where Trump is expected to be watching the Alabama-Georgia football game on Saturday evening, according to CNN.
