I join countless other dedicated New York Jets fans expressing our disillusionment at the team’s declining and abysmal performance over the years. Every football season, we faithfully tune in with the high hope of seeing our beloved New York Jets triumph, only to witness games akin to a car wreck. All this has been under the management, if you can call it that, of owner Woody Johnson, whose stewardship has been marred with terrible decisions, underperformance, and sheer stupidity.
The team’s performance, or lack thereof, speaks volumes. Since Woody Johnson bought the team in 2000, the New York Jets have failed to secure a single Super Bowl win. They have reached the playoffs only six times, and their last appearance was over a decade ago, in 2010. Moreover, his record at the helm is 170-224 — an absolute disgrace.
Fans not only demand but deserve better. We deserve a team that is competitive and well-managed. Teams such as the Steelers or the 49ers exemplify good and responsible management, showing a commitment to the fans and exemplary stewardship. In contrast, this fiery trash heap of a team rages on.
For the love of the game, the love of the fans, and the love of humanity, Woody Johnson must sell this dumpster fire of a team, ushering in a new era of competent and successful management and ownership. Sign this petition to have Woody sell this disgrace of a team and bring back decency and dignity to the New York Jets.
