McDonald’s debuts the new Dulce de Leche Frappe as a limited-time flavor of its frozen coffee drink for fall 2024.
McDonald’s Dulce de Leche Frappe features a blend of ice, caramel coffee Frappe base, and a new dulce de leche-flavored syrup, topped with whipped cream and crunchy caramel pieces. It’s basically a sweeter, extra caramelly Frappe. In comparison, McDonald’s regular menu Caramel Frappe consists of a blend of ice and caramel coffee Frappe base, topped with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle.
Prices vary but a small Dulce de Leche Frappe costs $3.19 here in Los Angeles versus $2.99 for a same-sized Caramel or Mocha Frappe.
Dulce de leche is similar to caramel but is made by slowly cooking milk and sugar while caramel is made by slowly cooking down water and sugar. It generally has a nuttier, more complex flavor.
