Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Dec. 4, 2024:
Fantasticos Mexican Food – 9666 E Riggs Road, Sun Lakes
3 violations
- No certified food manager
- Employee dropped spatula on floor – picked it up – then kept cooking
- Cooked beef kept past discard date
Lin’s Grand Buffet – 1215 S Ellsworth Road, Mesa
3 violations
- Staff member not washing hands properly
- Pans of orange chicken not held at proper temperature
- Cook handling raw shrimp then kitchen equipment without washing hands
Lychee Kitchen – 23450 N 19th Ave, Phoenix
3 violations
- Raw chicken stored above vegetables
- Shrimp not kept cold enough
- Eggs out of temperature
Denny’s – 3971 S Gilbert Rd, Gilbert
3 violations
- Hash browns not held at proper temperature
- Raw beef stored above cooked turkey bacon
- No written policy for clean up of vomit
Yoko Fast Food – 1235 S Gilbert Rd, Mesa
4 violations
- No soap at hand wash sink
- Tray of raw pork stored over shrimp
- Tub of noodles not cooling properly
- Can of WD-40 on shelf over food ingredients
