Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) lashed out at the suggestion that he was pushing for higher pay for members of Congress on Wednesday, calling one journalist who made the claim a “lying piece of sh*t.”
After conservative journalist Nick Sortor claimed unnamed sources had said Crenshaw was “spearheading the effort to get a pay raise for Congress,” Crenshaw disputed the claim in an expletive-laden X post.
“Yeah or maybe you’re a fucking lying piece of shit because I’m not even on the YES list for the whip team,” he protested. “Never have been. But hey, whatever gets you pathetic bottom feeders your click bait. Fucking incels.”
Crenshaw continued to lash out after pro-Trump commentator “CatTurd” remarked that the congressman didn’t “need a raise because of all the money he makes when he miraculously became a stock expert since joining Congress.”
“Anonymous coward like ‘catturd’ talking shit without any evidence. I’m used to it. Sorry I was guy fighting the wars that little bitches like you would never dare to,” Crenshaw replied. “One of us has actually served this country and continues to, while losers like you make money being trolls on social media.”
He continued, “I live in Atascocita, just outside Houston. If you think I’m ‘rich,’ you’re a fucking idiot. The people getting rich off politics are the ‘influencers’ like Catturd selling their platforms to the highest bidder. Sorry to break to it yall, that’s the truth.”
Crenshaw received backlash over the posts, with critics complaining they were inappropriate for a sitting member of Congress.
“Completely despicable and abhorrent behavior from a current congressman,” commented former Hannity producer Kylie Jane Kremer. “You should not only be ashamed of yourself to speaking to a constituent this way but you also more than deserve to be primaried.”
