They will perform at the first Heritage Live Festivals’ 2025 summer outdoor shows at Audley End House & Gardens in Essex on August 1.
Tickets will go on pre-sale next Wednesday (February 5) at 9am GMT before tickets go on general sale on Friday (February 7) at 9am. Fans can sign up for pre-sale which closes at 7pm GMT next Tuesday (February 4) here and purchase general tickets here.
The show comes as an extension to his already announced tour dates for the UK this year. These include a slot at London’s Palladium, as well as gigs in Brighton, Dundee, Glasgow, Manchester, Halifax and as part of the Margate Summer Series at Dreamland.
The shows come ahead of this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust gig series next month, which will see The Who return for a live performance alongside Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, James Arthur and The Corrs.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (January 31) at 9am GMT, and will be available here.
The latest show comes after Pete Townshend said The Who would “definitely” return in 2025. Though he never explicitly shared what the band’s plans entailed, his comments suggested that the band could be hitting the road sometime in 2025.
The guitarist went on to explain: “The album side of it… Roger’s not keen. But I would love to do another album and I may try to bully him on that. The last big tours that we’ve done have been with a full orchestra, which was glorious, but we’re now eager to make a noise and make a mess and make mistakes.”
Previously, when speaking to NME, he said that he was “pretty sure” there would be more Who shows, and that “the story of the end of The Who is gonna be when either Roger or I drop dead or can’t function anymore on the stage”.
