President Donald Trump roasted a HuffPost reporter for grilling him about controversial comments made by Vice President JD Vance.
On Sunday, Vance claimed on X that federal judges were not allowed to “control” the “legitimate” power of the executive branch following a court ruling that barred Elon Musk’s DOGE from accessing Treasury Department payment systems.
During a brief press conference on board Air Force One, Huffington Post senior White House correspondent S.V. Dáte asked Trump about the controversial statement from his vice president. Trump ignored the question and instead attacked HuffPost by claiming he though the outlet had “died.”

TRUMP: Who?

TRUMP: Oh, no wonder. I thought they I thought they died. Are they still around? I haven’t read them in years. I thought they died!
“The vice president suggested that if the Supreme Court rules in a way that you don’t like, they could just enforce it by themselves. Do you agree with that?” the reporter asked.
“I don’t know even what you’re talking about. Neither do you. Who are you with?” Trump replied.
“HuffPost,” the reporter said.
After Trump asked for a repeat of the answer, he joked, “Oh, no wonder. I thought they I thought they died. Are they still around? I haven’t read them in years. I thought they died.”
