CHIPOTLE fans have slammed the chain for a new weighing policy that measures how much food you get.
A damning video posted on X showed a customer observing Chipotle’s new method in action – as the CEO faces backlash for skimping on meals.

The footage shows a Chipotle employee putting a dish on a scale to determine how much to put in it.
Seeing that he had already put enough in, the server then put the rest of the serving back.
The video has faced strong backlash and has been seen 72,000 times in just two hours.
The text on the video reads, “Chipotle??? Really?”
One person commented on the post, “Lol and raising prices. Pathetic.”
The company had previously been hit with accusations of cutting down on portion sizes on social media.
“When Chipotle first opened they really made great bowls! Now they skimp on serving,” one fan bashed on TikTok.
“Seriously fix this guys come on, it’s happened to me like 5x already and I haven’t gone back since because I don’t feel like I’m getting my money’s worth,” cried another.
The drama stretched back to October 2024, when The US Sun also reported on the backlash facing the chain.
Several TikTok videos from customers began to surface that seemingly showed Chipotle employees filling the bowls excessively because people were filming
A few argued the “math isn’t mathing” and looked at side-by-side comparisons of the menu item when they filmed and when they didn’t, which allegedly showed the difference in portions.
The trend became known as the Chipotle “cell phone rule” by some but has been called different things.
This anger is despite former Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol denying the claims of shrinking portions.
“There was never a directive to provide less to our customers,” he said.

The US Sun has been given a comment from Chipotle in regards to their portion sizes.
A rep for the company said: ““At Chipotle, our intentions are to provide a great experience every time with our real food served in abundance.
“There have been no changes to our portion sizes or new policies put in place around weighing ingredients.
“We are in the process of identifying this restaurant location so we can retrain the team on consistently executing to our standards of excellence and providing great hospitality.”
NEW TECH
This scrutiny comes as The U.S. Sun previously reported on the CEO of Chipotle being accused of skimping on your meal sizes.
Scott Boatwright, Chipotle’s new CEO as of last fall, promised generous portion sizes following a new tech rollout.
In an earnings call in February, Boatwright said that Chipotle was debuting a new tool to ensure correct portions.
“Fresh shop produce in our restaurants each day is key to maintaining our high culinary standards,” he said.
“But it’s also one of the most time-consuming tasks.
“Some of the efficiencies from the produce slicer will help offset the investment we made last year, ensuring generous portion sizes.”

The slicer chops onions, jalapeños, and fajita vegetables, improving the speed and simplicity of food preparation.
It also ensures consistent cut sizes by improving the employee experience and making their job easier and trims down on mistakes.
Chipotle is currently rolling out the produce slicers to all its restaurants.
The change is expected to be complete by this summer.
Chipotle is also testing a produce slicer, dual-sided plancha, three-pan rice cooker, and dual VAT in select locations.
This extends their effort to streamline their operation.
“The end goal is to improve the experience for our teams by making tasks easier to execute, more efficient, faster and more consistent while maintaining our high culinary standards,” Boatwright said.
“Exceptional in-restaurant and digital experiences coupled with our powerful marketing strategy make the brand more visible, more relevant, and more loved.
“This builds the brand momentum and results in year after year of transaction growth.”
