JD Vance has become a target for online memes after Friday’s extraordinary shouting match between him, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky.
Social media users have lampooned the US vice-president by depicting him as an overweight monster, an ogre and a child with a lollipop.
The memes have spread on sites such as X following the Oval Office row, which left relations between Washington and Kyiv in tatters.
A meme is an image, video or piece of text that is copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often as a joke. Many of the Vance memes have been shared millions of times online.
One meme showed Mr Vance wearing an ill-fitting grey suit and checked shirt with no tie. It was captioned: “What president Zelensky saw when JD Vance was trying to talk tough to him”.
Another depicted the vice-president with an oversized, bald head and wearing a condom on his forehead. Its caption said: “The only person JD Vance satisfied yesterday was Putin.”

A third meme showed Mr Vance wearing a red Make America Great Again hat sideways, next to a picture of president Zelensky.
The image was accompanied by the text of an imaginary conversation between the pair, with the vice-president saying: “You can’t mess with JD Vance … because you won’t say pwease”.
Another meme, which appeared to have been made using artificial intelligence, depicted Mr Trump’s deputy as overweight with long curly brown hair and a long brown beard. It was captioned: “I have completely forgotten what JD Vance looks like at this point.”
The vice-president was also portrayed as a child wearing a multi-coloured helicopter hat with a lollipop. The meme’s caption said: “Funny how JD Vance came to lecture European leaders about an enemy within – now we see who the enemies from within really are”.

During the White House argument, the US president accused his Ukrainian counterpart of “gambling with World War Three”, while Mr Vance told Mr Zelensky that it was “disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media”.
During the encounter, the Ukrainian president was also challenged by a journalist over why he had not worn a suit to the White House.
Following the row, Mr Zelensky left the White House empty-handed despite plans to sign a minerals deal with Washington.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mr Vance renewed his criticism of the Ukrainian president, accusing him of “needling” Mr Trump and having a “certain sense of entitlement”.
The Republican told Fox News: “He showed a clear unwillingness to engage in the peace process that president Trump said is the policy.
“That’s the real breakdown. I think Zelensky wasn’t yet there. And, frankly, still isn’t there. But I think he’ll get there eventually. He has to.”
