It’s not official yet, but the Denver Broncos seem to be trending toward playing an international game during the 2025 NFL season.
Citing multiple sources, Benjamin Allbright of KOA Radio reported Monday that the Broncos are expected to be the “road” team when the Indianapolis Colts “host” a game in Germany this fall.
Denver is among Indy’s home opponents in 2025, making the Broncos eligible to play in that game. Denver is also a road opponent against the New York Jets (who will host a game in England), but it looks like the Broncos’ international trip will take them to Berlin.
“It’s very possible we end up playing in a game in London or Berlin,” team owner and CEO Greg Penner acknowledged in January. “I think Sean [Payton] has a great approach to these things which is, ‘That’s an opportunity for the team to have some time to bond in a different way.’ You saw that with the team this year at the Greenbrier, which I think was helpful for the team as really building a young group and a culture. We’d welcome that if we have the opportunity to do it.”
The NFL will announce the full international schedule this spring. While not yet official, it sounds like fans in Germany will have a chance to watch the Broncos in person this season.
