Before he became the host of The Price is Right, Drew Carey was a successful comedian. He became well-known thanks to his appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He then went on to have a successful sitcom. When Bob Barker stepped down as host, Drew took his place and never looked back.
However, there are some fans who are getting tired of some of Drew’s jokes and his “Drew-isms.” Here is what fans are complaining about now.
Fans Want The Price Is Right Doughnut Jokes Stopped
Drew Carey loves to joke around, although most of his jokes qualify as “Dad Jokes.” However, some fans feel that they are repetitive and want them stopped. This was more pronounced during The Price is Right spin-off when they said one joke was just confusing.
According to one fan on social media, they didn’t like Drew’s “inside Doughnut Jokes” showing up on the spin-off, saying, “its confusing since some have no idea what Drew is talking about; hence, it’s strange.” However, this didn’t seem to bother other fans, who responded with their thoughts on this.
- One fan said there was an actual name for these repetitive jokes, saying, “It’s just a Drew-ism. A strange one but it’s just a Drew-ism.”
- Another doesn’t want him to stop and enjoys his quirks, writing, “Nah, I love Drew. Keep doing you, Drew.”
- A third slammed the OP, writing, “It’s Drew’s job to make the jokes, not to explain the jokes. Remember that as you stumble through life.”
- Finally, a fourth pointed out another Drew-ism, saying, “It’s a running gag, no different than the “37 hours” in Range Game. Drew having a blast helps make the show more FUN.”
Drew Carey Remains One Of Best Game Show Hosts On The Price Is Right
While people might nitpick some of what Drew Carey does, he remains one of the best game show hosts on television. When he works on The Price is Right, he seems to be on the players’ side the entire game and almost cheers them on to win. He also takes up for them when the audience gets rude.

This happened this week on the show when a man was trying to guess some numbers in Switcheroo (via The Express). Brian was playing and when he made his choices, members of the audience began to boo and give him a hard time. Brian took his time, and many viewers in the audience began to start to complain.
This caused Drew to turn to the audience and say, “Good morning, judgemental.” Brian’s gameplay worked, despite the audience’s frustration, and he won a new car.
