A sign from a hate group was taken down Saturday from the American Tobacco Campus (ATC) in Durham.
A photo showed the sign, which read “strong families, strong nations” with a link to a Patriot Front website. A spokesperson from ATC said they were alerted about the sign and removed it.
Patriot Front is classified by several groups as a White nationalist hate group.
“There is no place for hate at the American Tobacco Campus,” ATC general manager Pete McClure said.
ATC security sent WRAL News two photos showing the people they believe hung the sign on the building.
Signs from Patriot Front were also posted in various areas around downtown Durham at various times.
It is unclear if authorities believe the same men posted the signs.
ATC said they are working with law enforcement during the investigation.
WRAL News received a report of another sign that was seen along Interstate 40 East in Raleigh Sunday morning. The Raleigh Police Department told WRAL that they are looking into a similar situation but said they don’t have any other details right now.
This is a developing story.
