Tesla is sending a lineup of Cybertruck prototypes to the crusher, including several Release Candidate vehicles and examples from the Baja PR stunt.
A new picture has emerged online showing the trucks lined up in the scrapyard waiting to be demolished.
It’s not a very pretty sight.
But their fate is, unfortunately, already sealed.

Cybertruck prototypes set for crushing
Before the EV truck’s release, these prototypes were all the rage.
Tesla even tested these vehicles’ off-roading capabilities in Baja in October 2023 in a stunt that went viral.
It was the first time that anyone saw these Cybertruck prototypes in graffiti and with a lightbar.
Now, knowing their eventual fate is heart-crushing.
Other than the infamous window-smashing event at the truck’s unveiling, it might be one of the saddest moments in the Cybertruck’s short history.
It definitely makes you wonder if there was something that could’ve been done to save them.
Inevitable demolition
Some of these Cybertruck prototypes have already met their end without even meeting the crusher.
The ones used for crash testing before the EV truck’s public release were already destroyed.
Others seen in the pictures, uploaded by Calimotive, have already been stripped of their wheels, battery, drive units, and all important components.
They have served their purpose and now sit at the scrapyard awaiting the same fate as all other prototype cars.
Since a carmaker can’t let these cars on the road, sending them to a crusher is unfortunately one of Tesla’s only options.
But it will be interesting to see how a crusher holds up against the stainless steel of the Cybertruck prototypes.
