PENSACOLA, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Saturday in honor of the NAS Pensacola terror attack.
On Dec. 6, 2019, three U.S. Navy sailors were killed and several others were injured by the hands of Saudi military trainee Mohammed Alshamrani.
The fatal victims were Airman Mohammed Haitham, Ensign Joshua Kaleb Watson and Airman Apprentice Cameron Walters.
“On December 6, 2019, a terrorist at Naval Air Station Pensacola took the lives of three U.S. Navy sailors and injured others. As a mark of respect for the victims, I signed the attached Proclamation directing the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, December 6, 2025,” DeSantis said in a release.
