CLEVELAND, Ohio – De-Evolution is real and so still, is DEVO, the band that dreamt up the concept and who will be hitting the road this spring and summer on their “DEVO: 50 Years of De-Evolution…Continued” tour. It will include a stop at Temple Live on Sunday, May 11. Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 7, at templelive.com.
The band of native Akronites hasn’t performed in Cleveland since a 2005 show at the “Scene Pavilion” and have not performed in their hometown since a 2008 benefit show at The Akron Civic Theater.

Since those shows, the new wave rockers who innovated music videos in the ’80s, have been thrice nominated for enshrinement in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, 2021 and 2022. Devo has been eligible for Rock Hall induction since 2003.
In 2024, the band released “DEVO,” an entertaining documentary about the band’s history and subversive brand of entertainment, toured under the “50 years” title and performed a set on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk series. More recently, bassist and singer Gerald Casale has strongly intimated that the upcoming tour could be the band’s final jaunt across America’s stages.
