The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of three popular Coca-Cola sodas that may contain metal in the drinks. Select Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Coca-Cola, and Sprite cans produced by the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, LLC, are impacted.
The Texas-based company initiated the recall on Oct. 3, and the FDA classified it as Class II, meaning that drinking the Coca-Cola products “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” on Oct. 20.
How To Identify the Recalled Coca-Cola Products
The recalled Coca-Cola and Sprite cans were sold only in Texas. More than 4,000 units of Sprite, Coca-Cola Zero, and Coca-Cola packs are affected. You can look for the following information to determine if you have cans that may be contaminated with foreign matter.
- 12-pack Coca-Cola Zero Sugar cans with codes 49000042559 / FEB0226MAA
- 35-pack Coca-Cola Zero Sugar cans with codes 49000058499 / FEB0226MAA

No other Coca-Cola products have been recalled at this time.
What To Do if You Have the Recalled Coca-Cola Products
If you have the recalled Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, or Sprite sodas, you should not consume them, as the metal fragments in the beverages could lead to internal injury.
Instead, throw the cans away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
