Vice President Kamala Harris gave her closing argument speech at The Ellipse near the White House on Tuesday night, and all networks covered it live throughout. Fox News, however, opted to offer its own derogatory opinions of Harris’s speech through a series of increasingly unhinged and absurdly biased chyrons, or lower thirds as they are called in the biz, designed entirely to undermine Harris’s campaign.
The immediate reaction to Harris’s speech on mainstream media outlets was largely positive. Harris spoke compellingly and delivered specifics about her policies, including on the economy, in a clear and concise manner, in a way that is perhaps unfamiliar to many who haven’t watched every one of her rallies or events.
She also drew a stark contrast with her opponent, former President Donald Trump, citing the reports of his disregard for those who serve in the military and his “enemy within” rhetoric that is seen as divisive and anti-American. She also included a message of inclusion and hope for those who looked for it.
Fox News chyron writers, however, spent almost the entirety of Harris’s speech appending lower thirds that mocked her address and accused her of failing to enact anything of merit in her four years serving as vice president. (Of course, vice presidents historically deliver a lot of material accomplishments while serving at the president’s pleasure. Just ask Mike Pence.)
The following is a collection of most of the most over-the-top banners aired by The Ingraham Angle and Jesse Watters Primetime, the conservative and very pro-Trump opinion shows scheduled during Harris’s speech:
