A Jeopardy champion from North Carolina has been arrested on two charges of felony secret peeping, according to court documents reviewed by Entertainment Weekly.
Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena, 42, won the show twice in November 2024, walking away with $44,698, per TV Insider. He returned in January for the Champions Wildcard Tournament, where he didn’t move past the semifinals.

The development engineer from Raleigh was arrested Dec. 1 , according to the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office in Maple, N.C.
According to the warrant, authorities accuse him of “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously” secretly or surreptitiously installing in a room “any device that can be used to create photographic image, namely camera placed in the bathroom, with the intent to capture the image of another without their consent.” They allege that he committed the crime Oct. 10.

Court records show that a $5,000 bond was posted Dec. 3.
DeSena’s first court appearance is set for Currituck County Court on Wednesday.
Jeopardy, which began its modern run in 1984, sees roughly 400 contestants each year.
