Comedian Jon Stewart mocked President-elect Donald Trump’s peculiar handshaking style on Monday following the Republican’s high-profile visit to Paris for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral.
The Daily Show host didn’t hold back, calling out Trump’s idiosyncrasies and penchant for self-promotion.
Stewart zeroed in on one detail from the weekend: Trump’s unorthodox handshake.
“How fucking weird he is about shaking hands,” Stewart quipped during his Monday night show. To drive the point home, he aired a montage of Trump greeting world leaders, his movements exaggerated and chaotic.
“Top-down, up-down, bottom, side to side, grab it, hit me on the flippity,” Stewart joked, mimicking Trump’s style.
But it wasn’t just the handshakes that raised eyebrows. Stewart also took aim at Trump’s latest business endeavor—a fragrance line titled Fight, Fight, Fight.
Trump promoted the colognes with an image of himself and First Lady Jill Biden at the cathedral, paired with the tagline: “A Fragrance Your Enemies Can’t Resist.”
“You fucking won. You won,” Stewart said. “You don’t have to push merch anymore. I find it hard to believe I’m saying this, but it’s beneath you.”
