Laura Loomer has entered the fray in the MAGA Civil War that has pitted Trump’s most loyal and nationalist following against Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and “technocrats” who have come out in favor of HB1 visas.
Loomer appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room, and was unsparing in her criticism of the technology moguls who suddenly hold such advisory sway over President-elect Donald Trump, calling them “welfare queens because their companies are receiving government subsidies and they want to take over our defense industry.”
Bannon is the former Trump advisor and still loyal supporter who has been unsparing in his criticism of Musk, who has garnered criticism for being the “shadow president” for his ubiquity at Trump’s side during the transition period.
“What we need to have a conversation about is what is it going to mean for the future of our country, our national security and the incoming Trump administration?” Loomer asked rhetorically of her host. “If we have a bunch of technocrats who are also essentially welfare queens because their companies are receiving government subsidies and they want to take over our defense industry.
“If you have a bunch of tech bros with billions of dollars and direct, unfettered access to the vice president and the president of the United States, and then they are also, you know, very cordial with our adversaries, as in China and Iran,” Loomer added, sounding shockingly similar to Retired Lt. General Russell Honoré’s New York Times essay calling Musk a “national security risk.”
“We see that Elon Musk is having these meetings off the books with Iranian officials, with Chinese officials. What does that mean for us and the future of our constitutional republic?” Loomer continued before being interrupted by Bannon.
