RALEIGH, N.C. (WRAL) – North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson spoke Tuesday, announcing he’s suing CNN over a report that alleged the Republican made racist and sexually explicit comments on a pornographic website.
Robinson is running for governor against Democrat Josh Stein, the state’s sitting attorney general. CNN reported on Sept. 19 that Robinson, using an alias, referred to himself as a “Black Nazi” and called for the reinstatement of slavery in comments made more than a decade ago on a pornographic website called Nude Africa.
Robinson has denied allegations made in the report, referring to them as “salacious tabloid lies.” His new defamation lawsuit seeks $50 million in damages from the news network.
