Morgan Wallen’s son is already developing his own personality.
The country singer, 31, appeared on the This Past Weekend with Theo Van podcast and was asked about his 4½-year-old son Indigo Wilder, whom Wallen shares with ex-fiancée KT Smith.
“I think it just gets better and better as the older he gets,” the musician said of his relationship with his toddler son.
“I mean, it’s always been cool, but you know. He’s 4 years old now, he’ll be 5 this year,” the proud dad continued. “Just a personality that keeps coming out and the relationship that you build. He’s got a little sass on him. He’s got a little attitude, you know, which I like. I like that spunk.”

Wallen went on to illustrate a perfect example that happened during mealtime with his father and his son.
“Yesterday, my dad was telling him — he was trying to get him to eat. It’s kind of a task to get him to eat, to sit still long enough to eat,” Wallen explained. “And my dad was like, ‘Hey man, if you don’t eat I’m going to put you in the bedroom and you’re going to go to sleep,’ or whatever. I don’t know exactly what my dad said to him.”
“But he looked at my dad and he said, ‘I don’t want you to stay here anymore.’ I mean, it’s just like hilarious, you know?”

In February, Wallen released a snippet of a new song titled “Superman” to Instagram, sharing that the track was dedicated to his son.
“Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be,” he captioned his post. “And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it. Here is a clip, it’s called ‘Superman.’”
In the song, the singer reflected on past mistakes, including his April arrest, and likened his struggles to those of the DC superhero while speaking to his son.
“One day you’re gonna see my mugshot/From a night when I got a little too drunk,” he sings on the track. “Hear a song about a girl I lost/From the times that I just wouldn’t grow up/And when you ain’t a kid no more/I hope you don’t think less of me/I try to hide my falling short/But you’re gonna see.”

The singer went on to compare “that bottle,” meaning his struggles with alcohol, to Superman’s kryptonite, which can bring “a man of steel down to his knees.”
“Don’t always know my wrongs from right/Sometimes I’m my own worst enemy,” he sings. “No I don’t always save the day/But you know for you I’ll alway try/I do the best I can/But Superman [is] still just a man sometimes.”
The “You Proof” singer was arrested in April 2024 after throwing a chair from the roof of Chief’s Bar in Nashville.
In December, he was sentenced to one week at a DUI education center as well as two years’ probation, one for each of his misdemeanor charges for reckless endangerment. The star was also ordered to pay a $350 fine and court fees. Wallen pleaded conditionally guilty due to judicial diversion, and if he successfully completes the terms of his probation, will have his charges eligible for dismissal and expungement.
