The latest Natick, Mass., business news:
Mall woes
Real estate and financial publications are reporting that the Natick Mall’s financial situation is worsening.
Banker & Tradesman, citing a report from Bisnow, writes that the “mall’s owner, Brookfield Properties, is seeking a ‘multi-year extension’ of the $505 million loan’s maturity date…” Meanwhile, dozens of tenant leases are set to expire, and the large Lord & Taylor space has yet to be refilled. On the bright side, per debt researchers Trepp, Crate & Barrel has re-upped.
Title City Barbers cleans up nicely
Title City Barbers leaves its customers looking good, but the business itself needs a bit of cleaning up from time to time too.
Lafuente Sign & Awning of Everett reached out to tout the new exterior signage/awning and interior sports mural makeovers it handled at the barber shops in Natick Mall and Natick Center. The murals depict local sports figures, including those who got or get their hair done at Title City.
Josh Pereira, owner of Title City Barbers, said in a statement: “Our clients love the Boston sports mural, and I especially love it when one of the professional athletes stop in for a cut and they see themselves on our wall.”

Ye olde Natick Towne Mall
While poking around online for some Natick Mall info, I stumbled upon a blog dubbed the “mall hall of fame.” Naturally, Natick has is entrants, and they include one called the Natick Towne Mall I wasn’t familiar with. The shopping area was renamed Cloverleaf Marketplace in the early 1980s.
The Natick Towne Mall was once home to stores such as Kmart.
