LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — P.J. Blue, a former University of Louisville linebacker who spent four injury-plagued seasons in Louisville after arriving as a heralded recruit, has died. He was 27.
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Blue was a standout at Park Crossing High School and a four-star recruit who committed to Louisville in 2015 over offers from Alabama, Clemson, and several other programs. He redshirted his first year in 2016 and missed the 2017 and 2019 seasons with knee injuries but emerged in 2018 to appear in 11 games, including four starts. That year, he totaled 39 tackles and two tackles for loss.

Blue was known for his resilience, work ethic, and leadership in the locker room. Off the field, he was admired by teammates and coaches for his positive spirit and determination through adversity.
