Blinq Mobility, an early-stage electric vehicle startup, has raised ₹4.3 Cr in a pre-seed funding round to support the development of its battery-swapping electric cars designed for urban mobility.
Founded by IIT Delhi alumni, Blinq Mobility is developing purpose-built electric vehicles engineered for high-utilisation city operations. The company’s approach centres on modular vehicle architecture and quick battery swapping to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency in dense urban environments.
The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate vehicle engineering, battery and swapping system development, validation and testing activities, and early pilot deployments with fleet and mobility partners.
According to Nikesh Bisht, Founder & CEO, Blinq Mobility,
“Urban electric mobility requires vehicles that are designed ground-up for utilisation and reliability. This funding enables us to focus on engineering maturity and real-world validation as we move towards scalable deployment.”
“We see the battery and the vehicles as two separate entities. The battery becomes a portable energy container, and the vehicle simply uses that energy. This decoupling allows vehicles to operate continuously, without downtime for charging.”
The pre-seed capital will be used to:
● Advance modular vehicle engineering and product development
● Build and validate autonomous battery-swapping systems
● Complete vehicle certification and homologation
● Deploy pilots in campuses and controlled environments
● Run pilot programs with fleet operators and ride-hailing platforms
● Strengthen the core engineering and operations team
