We never thought we’d see the day the Rolling Stones made a fragrance.
However, it appears the rockers are branching out, having launched their very first perfume—but you better be quick if you want to get your hands on it because there’s limited stock.
The Satisfaction hitmakers – comprising Sir Mick Jagger, 81, Keith Richards, 80, and Ronnie Wood, 77, – are selling just 999 bottles of their new fragrance, RS No.9, which will be on the shelves at their Carnaby Street store.
Its bottle is inspired by the Soho store, which is the area where it all started for the band in 1962 when they played their first gig at the Marquee Club.
Of course, the design boasts their iconic red lips logo, which was created by John Pasche in 1970.
It looks as electrifying as it smells, as graffiti-style song lyrics are also emblazoned across the glass.
Better still, the product is unisex and intends to make ‘every facet’ of the group’s legacy come flooding back for devout fans of their tunes as they wear it.
As for the scent notes, these include include bergamot, lemon, bourbon, labdanum, and oak.
There’s also leather because, well, it’s only fitting for these rock’n’roll legends, as well as hints of oud, musk, and patchouli.
A 100ml bottle of RS No.9 will cost you £99.99, and can be purchased online if you aren’t in the capital.
Speaking about creating the fragrance, perfumer Catherine Selig hailed it as a ‘dream project’.
‘I wanted to capture The Rolling Stones’ timelessness – their inimitable style, rebellious spirit, and the feeling of freedom their music still inspires,’ she shared.
‘Every note represents a different facet of the Stones’s legacy, from their soulful melodies to their on-stage unpredictability.
‘This fragrance is a journey through their world, filled with richness, texture, and bold contrasts.’
Chief operating officer of the perfume’s developer Nirvana Brands, Ken Rushton, added: ‘The Rolling Stones are ubiquitous in popular culture, and their influence on personal style is all around us. So, this project with the band and Bravado has been a delight.
‘Bottling the essence of The Rolling Stones in a unique and bold fine fragrance has been an incredible journey – and there is a whole lot more in the pipeline to come.’
Meanwhile, the Stones have said: ‘It’s the perfect fragrance for those who dare to be different, and we hope it will bring some joy to our fans.’
The product has been years in the making to ensure it was just right; hence the band enlisted Selig, who is renowned for her ability to bring evocative scents to life.
With a career spanning over six decades, the Rolling Stones are widely considered to be pioneers of rocky and gritty sounds.
They have sold over 250million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Additionally, they have three Grammys to their name, including a Lifetime Achievement trophy, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
Cut to 2024, and the Stones still perform around the world, having toured around Europe and America throughout this year.
