Taco Bell’s Caliente Chicken Nacho Fries feature seasoned fries topped with slow-roasted chicken, warm nacho cheese sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, crispy Fiesta Strips, reduced-fat sour cream, and Caliente Sauce.
I paid $5.49 for an order.
Visually and oddly, the nacho fries brought to mind a fall theme with red, orange, and yellow hues.

The main flavor driver of the Caliente Chicken Nacho Fries was the Caliente Sauce, which provided a moderate and sharp amount of spicy heat to go with a slightly creamy, seasoned savory base and a substantial dose of citrus. With the creamy and tangy bases covered, it was a bit of a head scratcher why sour cream was also included. Then again, Taco Bell typically adds sour cream on most of its topped fries.
The fries were tasty and crispy (moreso than I remember them being when they first launched). They held up well against the various sauces. The fiesta strips piled on a heartier layer of crunch.
In the cheese department, the nacho cheese felt more muted and mild against the Caliente Sauce and sour cream, while the shredded cheese mostly added texture rather than taste.
The chicken was tender and flavorful, but a little sparse on this visit.

Overall, Taco Bell’s Caliente Chicken Nacho Fries provided an excellent but familiar array of contrasting textures. The flavor was less varied but stood out more with the Caliente Sauce.
