Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball player Christian Smith-Johnson made a spectacular catch for the ages during Tuesday’s non-conference game against Texas A&M at College Station’s Blue Bell Park.
Smith-Johnson jumped over the right-field wall and tumbled into the Islanders bullpen to rob Gavin Kash of a grand slam.
Smith-Johnson quickly gathered himself to throw the ball back towards the infield and limit Kash to sacrifice fly.
The Aggies went on to win 17–6, but Smith-Johnson will always have a game to look back on for good memory. His spectacular catch led to a mention on Major League Baseball account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Smith-Johnson, a junior for the Islanders, is hitting .250 with one triple, one double and seven RBI in 21 games.
