It has left many audience members giggling. One said: “Surely they don’t need to explain that Tina won’t be in the show… that’s pretty obvious!” Chart-topper Tina is played by actresses Zoe Birkett and Karis Anderson in the show, which is at London’s Aldwych Theatre. They belt out her biggest hits including The Best and Private Dancer.
Tina was involved in creating the show when it launched seven years ago and she attended the opening night.
It has become one of the biggest hits in the West End and has had rave reviews.
It’s likely organisers issued the warning over Tina not being in the show because of a legal battle she had before her death.
The star sued tribute act Dorothea “Coco” Fletcher because she was so convincing, but the lawsuit failed and the performer was able to continue mimicking Tina in a show titled Simply The Best — The Tina Turner Story.
The legendary singer died at the age of 83 after she’d faced many health issues throughout her life, including intestinal cancer, strokes and kidney failure.
Turner was renowned for her electrifying stage presence and her immensely powerful voice.
The icon passed away at her residence near Zürich, Switzerland after a battle with series of prolonged illnesses. She released an autobiography, called My Love Story, in which the hitmaker revealed her struggles with these ailments and the huge impact they had on her life.
The 12-time Grammy winner continues to capture the hearts of her fans after her death – the musical has been seen by over 2million people in London, and is the longest-running show at the Aldwych Theatre having first premiered in 2018.
The jukebox musical follows Tina’s life from her humble beginnings in Tenessee to her transformation into one of the biggest rock ‘n roll stars if all time.
It features many of her iconic songs, like River Deep, Mountain High, We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome), Proud Mary, The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It.
