Trogdor the Burninator is one of the internet’s all-time greatest works of art! He was created in 2001 by Strong Bad, the email-checking and boxing-glove-wearing star of Homestar Runner.com, and has been re-created in hundreds of works of art ever since.
When asked if he could “draw a dragon”, Strong Bad described his method as follows:
“To begin, draw an ‘S’ for ‘snake.’ Or… dragon. … Next, we’ll draw a more different ‘S.’ Close it up real good at the top for his head and then, using consummate Vs, give him teeth, spinedies, and angry eyebrows. Then you can add smoke or fire, and maybe some wings if he’s a wing-a-ling dragon. Then put one of those beefy arms back on for good measure.”
I did my utmost to make my Trogdor 100% faithful to the original, and made extra sure all his Vs were consummate! He certainly has a lot of “majesty”, as Strong Bad would say.
When fully drawn, Trogdor sets out to “burninate” the countryside, as immortalized in Strong Bad’s hit rock song “Trogdor.”
I have loved Trogdor for most of my life, and I know I’m only one of thousands of fans around the world who love him. I hope they can someday enjoy a chance to build him as much as I did!
